Parkland Beekeepers Association
The purpose of the Parkland Beekeepers Association is to engage in any activity which will promote the common interest of beekeeping and the general welfare of beekeeping.
The location for our monthly meetings has changed. MAC has been kind enough to change the location of our monthly meetings for us. We will be meeting in the more spacious Rice Lecture Hall B this month and for the foreseeable future. Rice Lecture Hall is located in the Arts & Sciences Building. Our next meeting is Tuesday August 17th at 7:00 P.M. Robert Burns from the Northeast Kansas Beekeepers Association has agreed to do a presentation for us on queen rearing.
"Gregg Hitchings, Belleview Valley Apiary, recently donned a “bee beard” as a demonstration prior to the Parkland Beekeeper’s Association annual dinner held at the Arcadia Academy on July 20th. After the dinner, Gregg presented a short program explaining the biological traits of the honey bee which, when understood, allow working with these amazing creatures without concern."
