Meeting opened at 7:00 pm 23 members in attendance Treasures report balance on hand 2165.32 with no expenses this month. President Hitching inquired about honey tasting contest. motion by R Polite to purchase 1/2 pint jars, second by L Moses. Passed jars to be passed out at Sept meeting and returned for contest at Oct meeting. Coordinate with James Burchard for the final test.
There has been a request for a presentation at the Celtic event at Park Hills. We are still working on the Madison co fair the first weekend in Oct. Greg has been named the SEMO Regional Representative for the Missouri Beekeepers State Association. Michel Bush will be at the state Fall conference. Film clip on EFB by Dr Jamie Ellis We saw several photos of poor brood as a result of PMS, Parasitic Mite Syndrome. Discussion about the remedies of PMSPBA Director Pat Brady spoke to the group about the legal aspects of our organization in relationship to owning the bees at MAC. He as well as Director Mary Reed feels that we should donate the hives to the college to remove any liability as a result of the ownership. He ask permission of the membership to make the transfer of the hives to MAC with the understanding that PBA will continue to help the College with them and retain the right to use them in demonstrations. Having heard no objections the Directors as well as the other officers will begin the transfer of ownership.
