Discussions will be the first Tuesday of each month-7:00-8:30pm(ish) in the Horticulture Department at MAC.
 
March 1-Chapters 1, 2, Topics: Introduction, Bee Caste System, Bee Anatomy
 
April 5-Chapters 3, 4 Topics:  Organization of Colony, Equipment Necessary to Keep Bees
                                               How to Obtain Bees.
May 3-Chapters 5, 6   Topics:  Mating Behavior and Raising Brood
 
June 7-Chapters 7, 8 Topics:  Bee Forage/foraging behavior, Stings
 
July 5-Chapter 9 Topic:  Colony Management
 
August 2-Chapter 9 Topic:  Colony Management
 
September 6-Chapter 10 Topic:  The Harvest
 
October 4-Make up on material not covered and review.
 
November 1-Written Test and Practical Test
 
As time, weather and hive availability permit, we will try to provide in-hive demos and "instruction with the covers off" as much as possible.  Often this will be offered on 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month between the hours of 4:00 and 7:00pm at the MAC hives.  Stay tuned for details.
